    Facilitating impactful partnerships

We are an engagement and communications consultancy helping organisations engage the audiences that determine their success,

whether inside the organisation, around it or in government.

    LET’S WORK TOGETHER!
  • We help you engage with Your Audiences

Ingaged is a specialist engagement and communications consultancy. We work with private sector, public sector and not-for-profit clients across Australia. We are independent.

Ingaged recognises the value of diversity in effective decision-making and the benefits of partnership-led development. This is why we are passionate about giving people at all levels a voice in the projects, decisions and policies that affect them. We actively listen, we work collaboratively and we facilitate rather than direct.

We believe organisations succeed when the people inside them are aligned, the people around them are heard and the people in government are met with substance. Engagement done well is not a process or a touch-point. It is the discipline that converts strategy into permission, support and momentum. That is the difference between being engaged and being ingaged.

  • Strategic Communications

Engaging the audiences that determine reputation.

Strategic communications is the discipline of being understood by the audiences that determine reputation. Ingaged works with boards, CEOs and executive teams on the communications problems that sit above the marketing function: corporate narrative, reputation, positioning, issues, transitions and the long arc of how an organisation is known.

We do not chase coverage for its own sake. We build positions that hold under scrutiny and remain credible over time.

    Internal Communications

Engaging the people closest to the work.

Internal communication is where strategy meets the workforce. Most organisations have a plan. Far fewer have a workforce that understands it, believes in it and acts on it. Ingaged works with executives and people leaders to build the practices and programs that align a workforce around its strategy, its leadership and its purpose.

We measure what we do, including reach, comprehension, sentiment and behaviour. Internal communication is how an organisation builds and sustains an engaged workforce, and how engagement becomes lived rather than declared.

    Community Engagement

Engaging communities, and the organisations that work alongside them.

We help clients connect with communities through information sharing, consultation, community development and active participation in policy and decision-making. Working collaboratively with stakeholders and communities, we help develop places and programmes where people feel connected, safe and supported by the services and facilities they need. We ensure all stakeholders have an active voice throughout the process.

Community engagement done well is careful, patient work. It is also the foundation of projects built to last.

    Government Relations

Engaging the people who make and shape policy.

Government relations is the work of being known, trusted and useful to the people who shape policy. Ingaged helps organisations engage federal, state and local government on the issues that affect their licence to operate, their cost base and their capacity to grow.

Our practice is built on substance. We do not sell access. We help clients develop the policy positions, the evidence base and the engagement strategy that earn a seat at the table and the trust to keep it.

We work across the political cycle and across the aisle. Influence built on relationships alone does not survive a change of government. Influence built on substance does.

  • The Ingaged Consulting Approach

Five steps. They apply whether the audience is a workforce, a community, a regulator or a government minister.

    Strategy

Set the vision and level of ambition for future engagement, and review any past engagements. Define what success looks like and align the program with the broader strategic context of the organisation. Strategy is not a one-off step. It is the framing that holds every other step accountable.

    Stakeholders

Define the criteria for identifying and prioritising stakeholders, and select the engagement mechanisms that suit each audience. Map their interests, their influence and their context, and ensure the right people are engaged in the right way at the right time.

    Planning

Focus on long-term goals to drive the approach, determine logistics for the engagement and set the rules. Determine governance, resourcing, risk and the cadence of engagement. Good planning is what creates the conditions for good facilitation.

    Engagement

Conduct the engagement itself, ensuring equitable stakeholder contribution and mitigating tension whilst remaining focused on priorities. Manage difficult conversations as they arise. This is where facilitation does its work.

    Actionables

Identify opportunities from feedback and determine actions, revisit goals and plan next steps for follow-up and future engagement. Communicate back to participants, assign accountability and close the loop. Engagement that does not lead to action erodes trust.
